Hey everyone, my name is James. Got a project in the works, figured id share my work







Parked in 1981. 3 years before i was born. Haha

1993 sierra donor truck. Took entire front clip out of it

Bed widened 4" for 93 rearend and wheels. Fenders are same width
outside to outside as the cab now

Ladder bars and coilovers. A little triangulation and bracing

Electrical starts.. i know its over grown and uncalled for, but wiring is my
guilty pleasure.

Fuse panel and under dash harness

Panel is 70% unused for now, but i set it up to support a fuel injected motor and all the extras that goe along with that. Its pretty obnoxious looking, but i like it... and its not your truck. Hahaha. Hidden ignition
and start button... fan....brakes... blah blah blah

Annnnnd i have a few more tricks up my sleeve. My CTS-V paid the ultimate
price and donated its LS6 and T56. Tony from Mamo Motorsports set me up
with a nice top end... although "nice" doesnt even come close to describing his
work.

Thats been the last 14 months of my project. Im currently days away from
getting tags on it and being able to drive it. For now it has a '69 307 with a saginaw
box still connected to the column. Aesthetically speaking, its perfect for me. It will stay as is, im a sucker for patina. Interior is done as well.

Lots of parts and pieces i didnt cover... all new brake lines, all new window seals/felts, H4 conversion headlights... the list goes on and on. Feel free to ask questions or just point and laugh. I took TONS of information from this site, so thank you to everyone who participates here.

Its got some rust on it for a texas truck, but its not too terrible. Its all along the top of the windshield and passenger rocker.

It always bothered me how skinny the bed is on these trucks, so i decided to widen it out to the cab dimensions. Most people dont notice, but the diehards and oldtimers usually catch it immediately.

I like the wiring and very nice motor.

I don't know how much Id trust that cam as a cross member. They are usually pretty brittle.

Thanks, i really like the wiring. I must be sick, because i actually enjoy it. Hahaha
The cam isnt structural, the rear step is waay over built. That 2x4 by 1/4" tubing and the pipe is 1 5/8 .125 wall. It just looked funny without another xmember, and the cam was laying there... boredom wins.

Thanks, it has been an adventure so far. Wheels are the 2wd rallye wheels (15 x 7 i think) and tires are 275/60 and 215/65.

I remember reading your story on finding your truck a few years ago, i cant imagine the excitement you experienced with that. I had a 1965 c10 in high school (98-99) that my dad had gotten me. Being young and dumb i traded it for some other junk and have missed it ever since. Around 2003 i started collecting parts truck (4 of them) and have been trying to lift this pickup off of a friends uncle since about the same time. Well he never would come off it. He died of cancer a few years back, and his wife called me out of nowhere, said if you want it... come get it. I told her i couldnt afford to give her what its worth, and she told me "just take it. Title is in the glove box." So after a solid 15 yrs of gathering parts i finally have jumped into the deep end. Hahaha. My poor wife, she doesnt understand it. The patina, the old school, the idea of letting time tell its tale (rust, dents, and whatnot) doesnt sit well with her, but she is allowing it.

Its nothing compared to your adventure, but im really excited. Its stressful posting this stuff on here because im kind of just leaving stuff as is. There are alot of super clean builds on here. I bought a new door lock cylinder and had it matched to the original worn out key. Im trying to leave as much of the original owner in it as i can.

What brand and series tires?
I like the tread pattern.

Rears are Atturo AZ800... pretty cheap tires. Picked them up for $75 ea

That's really neat, you can honor her gift and the uncle by keeping it rolling.
As far as the patina? I appreciate it more than the shiny ones because you can see the markings of time - the history of use. It gives a nostalgic feeling. And you don't have to worry about it. If a shopping cart runs into it, no big deal.

And there it is... 1st drive in over 35 yrs. That was an absolute blast, even if it was only 1/4 mile to the store...







No tags on it yet, have to wait til tuesday for it to be legal.
