Steering column mounted GMC hydramatic shifter and any part of the linkage if you have it. Any year AD or TF years OK if it still close to the same.

That is indeed the chevy version. The GMC is different...as is the linkage.

Would you have the shifter handle and detent box for that? Wonder if a three speed stick handle might work?

thanks, Steve weim55 Colorado

knob is different on 3 speed shifter but I don't know if handle itself will fit and detent bracket clamps around column under the hood and has neutral start switch mounted to it.

Detent box is the small box that supports the shifter rod on the firewall side of the steering column.

OK got it, sorry it took so long to get back to you. I can't find the lever but I am sure I didn't throw it away. I have the detent box, looks more like a clamp, still attached to steering column as support. I am using the column and wheel with a Mustang ll front end. If needed I could find some other way to support it
let me know your thoughts
I'm in the east bay so not far from you

Re: WANTED: GMC Hydramatic Shifter for AD

The chevy shift indicator will mount to a column that was a 3 speed shift on the column. The holes are in the same location. 54 and later columns had an extra cover lower where wiring came through. Again, GMC and Chevy used different shifters, and linkage from the factory. GMC engines are longer and I don't know any other reasons for differences. I was told that GMC tended to use Pontiac based shifters and Chevrolet used Oldsmobile based. That could be exactly wrong too but the basic idea is there.
