Have my springs been heated and shortened?
Hi all,
My rear springs have an odd look to them - the coil spacing is closer in the middle, and the certifier has questioned whether or not they've been heated and shortened.. Can anybody tell me if this looks stock standard? or if they indeed have been heated and shortened.. The truck is still appears to be normal height. Thanks! |

Those look like stock springs. As long as they are not touching in the middle they are alright from what I understand. There was just a thread on that here recently.
Here we go, I went and looked - http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=762931

Those springs are stock. I believe they are called progressive rate springs.

Springs lose height from age and use, not a big deal, unless you are restoring to regain the stock stance. |
