Question on engine brackets
Hey guys, I've been searching, but haven't found what I'm looking for. The motor I'm planning on dropping in my 72 c10 is out of an 88 c1500 that was my first truck. I've got the entire engine and all the brackets and associated pulleys, alternator, power steering pump, and water pump. I've got a different manifold and carb and getting new heads before install. Any issues running the whole set up? Can I use a power steering box from an 88 on the 72 without issue? Thanks all.

Re: Question on engine brackets
The only thing I see that may transfer over from the 72 is the exhaust manifolds. With the serpentine belt set up the fan may be quite close to the radiator. The steering box I'm not sure of being an 88. Steering pressure hose may be a small issue

Re: Question on engine brackets
My frame (steering box) is 72 and when I put in the 1990 serpentine system I took the fitting from the rear of my 72 pump and screwed it into the 90 pump because the hose end was different. The pump was nearly identical. Simple fix. If you desire to use the newer box for another reason then I have no experience with that. BTW your alternator wiring will have to be retrofitted due to the 88 being internal voltage regulator.
