Parts arrived!!
My Summit order arrived!
New Hooker headers Exhaust kit Air pump controller for my air bags. It's going to be a great weekend. Any suggestions where to mount the air pump? I think it would be too noisy in the cab.

Re: Parts arrived!!
well it looks like I wasted my money on these headers. I ordered the Hedman 69230 since my 66 had a 350 in it and they are hitting all over the place. This sucks as I ordered a header back exhaust too so now....... I think I have to install the ram horn exhaust manifolds. Passenger side hits the frame at the bottom and the drivers side looks like it will exit right where the shift linkage is for the existing 700R4.....

Re: Parts arrived!!
and the starter won't fit with the headers on there. Man I'm bummed. I've saved a year for this.

Re: Parts arrived!!
Ok I think I figured out how to attach this.
Right now This is the drivers side where the header exits. This bracket is in the way I think.

Re: Parts arrived!!
Those look great. I figured out the passenger side with the starter. Now if I can figure out the drivers side with the transmission linkage bracket I can piece together the exhaust kit. Otherwise it looks like I need to take it to an exhaust shop

Re: Parts arrived!!
Installed em without jackstands. Fed em up under the truck. Had to pull the dipstick and starter wires. Replaced my 20 year old hooker supercomps that cracked at the collector where the primaries tie in. Going in the next week or so to get new exhaust.

Re: Parts arrived!!
It looks like the bracket that links the shifter rod is the old bracket that was on the old powerglide. Is there an upgraded bracket that would replace this old one that would give me the exhaust clearance I need?

I'm wondering if this linkage will work. Does anyone know?

Re: Parts arrived!!
The Hedman 69230's are designed for 4x4 applications but they should work in these trucks if you are running an auto trans. If you can not route the drivers side exhaust below the stock trans shift linkage assembly, that Lokar kit should work and provide some extra room for your exhaust on the drivers side.

Re: Parts arrived!!
Thanks Captain, I always appreciate your input and still love my power steering thanks to your bracket.
I'm going to order that kit and go from there. I think it will give me the clearance I need.
