A little over a year ago I finished fixing up my 85K10 I bought for $1500. With the $1500 included I have about $3500-4000 in the truck, and I could get maybe $5000 for it. I want to upgrade the motor, tranny, rear end, interior, maybe a lift, and after two years of salt and sand sections my mint paint job will need to be redone(the red on the bottom, and my whole pass. bedside.)

Is the truck worth it for what I want to make it into, or should I sell It and get a fresh start?(a 73-77 truck with a blown tranny&motor, but sweet original body would be an awesome start)

Aaaahhhhh...another 81+ comin to the 73-80 side...music to my ears.

I would honestly keep what you have...because you will end up doing the same thing to the older truck you have already done to the newer one.

How about a 73-80 front clip on your current truck??

Thought about the 73-80 clip, but a couple things
I dont know how the trim & Two tone would go with the 73-80 fenders.
And I dont only like the older front clip but also the older dash, gauges, the fact that the truck is an antique, and no or little emissions crap.

Good luck finding a rust free 70's truck in Connecticut. I lived in Mystic for three years and my 84 was the only 73-87 I saw that didn't have holes in the cab corners, rockers and usually the fenders and bedsides too!

If you do want a nice older truck, I highly recommend a trip to the northwest. You wouldn't believe the nice old trucks and cars still on the road here.

One thing I will say for Connecticut and New England in general, there are lots of nice interior and other parts to be had cheap since the bodies fall apart people don't pick them clean in the wrecking yards like around here.

truck looks mint to me in those pics id be happy as a pig in sh*t driving that around! i say keep it and dont worry about getting rid of it... hopw about another project i got a 76 you could have for a song but it needs help lots of it

KEEP IT! If you do get 5k for it, you are not going to get very far on an older truck. The 73-80 trucks are getting on up there in price if they are clean. You will spend most of the 5k to get a nice project.

Keep in mind, a 73 is now 30 years old. Unless a truck has been in climate controled storage for for all those years, it will need a lot of things replaced. It won' take long to spend 10k getting one in "like new" condition....
