CPP bent panhard bar
I just put a new CPP (bent version) panhard bar on the truck but it looks like the panhard bar is a little long. It sticks out 1/2" on the passenger side. I need to callapse the panhard bar about 1/4" to get it even. The bar is collapsed as far as possible with the locking nut in place. If I remove the locking nut I should be able to get the 1/4" I need. I think this should be fine as this is a single adjustable panhard bar. Once it's in place there is no way the length of the bar will change. Just wanted to hear any issues you guy's think removing the locking nut may cause. Thanks

Re: CPP bent panhard bar
I’m pretty sure I had the same issue with mine and removed the nut for the extra
And yes there is no way it can spin once installed. |

Re: CPP bent panhard bar
Take the bar off and cut 1/2" off the threaded end. That will give you enough room to put the jam nut on and tighten it down. You do have the rear end centered in the wheel wells correct? Check that first. You need that jam nut on the adjuster because of the play in the threads, and it needs to be tight.

Re: CPP bent panhard bar
Should be easy enough. Do you know how much of the bar is threaded? I'm at work right now reason I'm asking. That will be easy to check as well.

Re: CPP bent panhard bar
No but if you threaded the adjuster in all the way you should have enough thread depth after trimming. If not just cut some off the adjuster.

Re: CPP bent panhard bar
I guess its possible for it to be to long but I doubt it. It is not uncommon to have to use a ratchet strap to center the rear. Before you cut you need to measure the backing plate to frame both sides and make sure she's centered.

Re: CPP bent panhard bar
I removed the locking nut and bottomed out the eye. Perfectly centered now. I would not recommend cutting though unless you are prepared to do some welding. There is a threaded sleeve welded in the bar at the end. If you cut the end you will be cutting the weld off and the remainder of the sleeve would slide out of the bar. You would then have to weld it back to the end of the bar.

Re: CPP bent panhard bar
I used the Western Chassis adjustable bar.I has adjustment on both ends.just bolt in and turn bar to tighten,no straps needed.

Re: CPP bent panhard bar
I had to get the CPP bent bar because of my Moser rear diff cover. They are single adjustable.
