Heater Removal?

Is there a writeup about removing the heater (core, box, hoses, ETC...) from a 67-72 truck? I have seen delete plates discussed at length, but nothing about how to remove everything and what to do/not do. I assume its as simple as removing the components and capping the hoses, but I dont want to assume something that could cause my engine to get cooked.

Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere, but I could not find quite what I was looking for. Perhaps it is just too simple of a question, but better to ask the experts here before tearing something out that could possibly cause engine damage.

Thanks in advance!
