Tilt steering
I’m considering ididit column. I’ve talked to several tech support but some tech support say 32” and 38’? It’s for my 1966 c10 shorty with a big window.

Re: Tilt steering
Greetings. I don't have an answer for you, but I think someone in the 60-66 message board would. Let's see about getting this moved over there where it will be sure to be seen by that bunch

Why not try the PVC pipe column trick I described in post #9 of this thread so you can see what suits you. Like shoes, different people need different sizes and an ididit is a big investment into your comfort and safety. You want to get it right the first time. Edit: you also need to be clear on how idid it measures their columns. Remember they have the splined stub that extends past the tube and I think it may count in the overall dimensions Last edited by AcampoDave; 06-22-2018 at 11:00 PM. |

Re: Tilt steering
I went with Ididit's tilt, column shift retro column for the 60-66 truck and it is right at 32" end to end of the shaft. I had to position the column as close to the dash as possible. A 38-inch long column would be to long for my application (I have the factory bench seat). Be sure to measure with you sitting in your seat.

Re: Tilt steering
I got one from IDIDIT, I would say the retro fit is same length as stock with tilt. The mounts are slotted. Could be difference from tilt to non tilt as well.

Re: Tilt steering
I don't have length, but for a rack use Part# 1120650120
It was close if not same as 3 on tree column.

Re: Tilt steering
The problem with old tilt compared to new tilt the new style in way better. What is the one thing you grab a hold of to pull your self mostly fat people but skinny people do it too is the steering wheel. That's why I've never liked tilts they get lose it take a little while to go in the tighten up the column
