67 cargo / 3rd brake light
I shot this cab with buff epoxy primer this morning and about 2 1/2 years ago I saw the thread where one of the guys added a cargo light so I stole the measurements and installed the cargo light and 8 - 8mm red leds for the brake light . Worked out pretty good .

Very nice! Not only looks great but is a worthwhile functional mod.

Re: 67 cargo / 3rd brake light
I'm going to install 2 -60" white led strips under the bed side rails to light up the bed and tie them into the cargo light switch .Something like these but under the bedside so they stay hidden and just give off reflective light to the bed floor .

Re: 67 cargo / 3rd brake light
Did the same thing to my truck. When I installed the AAW wire harness, there was an extra wire for a third brake light. I ran it up to my cargo light and installed a red LED bulb. Works awesome.

Re: 67 cargo / 3rd brake light
Other than being a factory part that doesn't belong, I see it as killing that fat sheetmetal look and roundness of a small back window cab. But to each their own. I'm not a big fan of them on what they came on anymore, since I had one cause between the light and window to rust out due to water getting behind the gasket. But your truck won't be a driver I assume, so no worry there. I never use mine, but it's cool to have it come on when my door opens, and it shows mine is a higher trim level '72.

Re: 67 cargo / 3rd brake light
Yeah ,That truck is more of a period custom build shop truck ,What could have been built in the late 60's when "Custom added chrome" was king 350/muncie/posi, static drop . No ls,no airbags,no computers ,It didn't come with a Black Walnut wood bed or custom built bucket seats and interior either but it's got them , It's ok though, I have a few more 67's and the one sitting next to it that I'm epoxy priming tomorrow will be more of a stock restored driver. (MAYBE) .

Re: 67 cargo / 3rd brake light
We're on the same page with our '67s... 327/M22, louvered hood, roll & pleat, 8" steelies... nothing made after '72 or so. We didn't do all that much with brand new trucks back then. I'm picturing mine as 5 or so year old GMC with Pontiac touches. Plans are for a 389 eventually, if I can afford to build it. I already built the 327 before I found out my M22 numbers are '65 A-body. I also got a deal on GTO bucket seats, so might do door panels like one instead...if I ever get to it.
