19.5 P30 dually wheel question
I read somewhere (cant remember where) that you can machine a 19.5 wheel to take a 19 tire. I dont understand how that works. Can anyone explain?

Re: 19.5 P30 dually wheel question
never heard of that before, maybe with cast aluminium wheels... maybe... but not sheet metal rims. there no meat enough in the rim to cut away..
and a lathe to cut a wheel of that diameter? |

Re: 19.5 P30 dually wheel question
You cannot do it with a steel wheel. But aluminum rims offer a lot more material. It is not common to do except with the 22.5" rim IME. But the extra heavy duty rim machined down and utilizing a relatively light duty 22" tire won't have any strength issues.

Re: 19.5 P30 dually wheel question
last time I priced 19.5's they wanted almost 2K for five of them.
Still used by UPS radials with tubes and flaps mounted and ballanced! 2K! |
