Will a 1/2ton cab fit a 3/4ton chassis

I am building a 1980 3/4t truck into a serious towing rig. The existing cab is toast, so I picked up another cab (a 76 1/2t) and had it repaired. I am to the point of ordering the cab to frame hardware, I discovered that theres 2 separate kits, 1 for the 1/2t and 1 for the 3/4t, are there any modifications that have to be made for this installation? Or are they a close enough match to fit together?

cab dont care frame size in 1/2-1ton . other than floor hump for trans . in your old vintage you can prob just unbolt the floor hump and swap it with the other as needed .

i have or had 2wd cabs on 1ton fwd frames from 73-80 to 81-87 and or other mix and matches . no problems.

if you need body bushings kit and hardware just order for the FRAME year / model .

like the old color design on that truck hope you going old school on the repaint.

Welcome.
Cab will fit no problem.
The biggest difference from your 1980 frame and your 1976 cab is the hood hinges and front frame horns.
All that can be overcome with no issues.
