LT1 conversion
I am considering a corvette LT1 in a 72 4x4. I have a few questions for anyone who has completed this conversion. What did you do to put the fuel pump into the tank. Can a stock tank work or will a custom tank need to be used? Will after market fans need to be used or stock fans from a corvette? Will stock 350 motor mounts work? What throttle cable will work? What radiator hoses will work? I appreciate any information on this conversion. I don't know if I will go this route or not.

Custommike - are you keeping your old tranny, or going with the one originally behind the LT1? I have been thinking about the same swap, just not sure what it will do as far as hooking it up to my transfer case goes. Also not sure if the 4L60E is longer than my TH350.

If I go with the LT1 I will use the trans that comes with it. I am converting a 3-speed manual over to an overdrive automatic. As far as I know all you would need with your setup is a input shaft from the trans to the transfer case. I have talked with Advance Adapters and they have everything needed. The overdrive unit is 1 inch longer. I will move the motor foreward instead of shortening/lenthening the drive shafts.
