wing vent interchange
I'm going salvage yarding soon and need a set of vent windows for my 1985 pickup. I'm guessing 73-87 blazer, burb and pickup are pretty much all the same? I'm not concerned about the different style of handles, just want to make sure I buy ones that fit. Thanks!

Re: wing vent interchange
They are interchangeable. I read on here recently that in 1990 they changed the design of the rubber seals to cut down on wind noise. It just so happens that the ones on my truck came from a 91 Suburban that I had bought for parts. My truck is an 83. I had never heard about a design change when I found mine, but they work great and dont leak any air on the highway like some trucks I owned in the past. So if you can find some from a 90 or 91 Suburban that would be my first choice.

Re: wing vent interchange
They will all interchange but there are two different glass shapes. earlier models has the glass that comes to a point on top and late models are rounded. maybe 73-80 then 81 and up.

Re: wing vent interchange
Keep in mine Soft-Ray or clear glass when you get to the salvage yard.
When I go to the Yard I sometimes lose track of the whole reason I went they in the first place once I see all (the Stuff).

I get like that also, now the day before I make a list of must have stuff, once that's filled I look for any extras, the list works well and keeps me on track.

Re: wing vent interchange
I need a good deal once in awhile to keep me going! I prefer a yard or swap meet, especially after being ripped off on Ebay a few times. I've been buying parts at this yard for over 30 years, the owner is more of a recycler and doesn't put a high value on plastics and glass.

Re: wing vent interchange
I installed the vent windows, arm rest and bumper guards today, found some damage to the small center brackets that mount the front bumper to the frame horn. I knew the truck was wrecked years ago and took it for granted that they had fixed it right. They didn't just hammered out the brackets and they fit and look terrible, going to have the frame horns checked while I have it apart. Any difference between C or K brackets? My truck is a K30, are 1/2 -3/4 brackets the same? Going back to the yard again ASAP.

Re: wing vent interchange
Sorry for the late reply. I used k30 brackets with the tow hooks that go through the bumper. Mine’s a k10. I parted out a few trucks and Suburban’s and never noticed any difference in bumper brackets.

Excellent timing! I'm actually going back to the yard this A.M, bumper brackets, hood and a bed floor are on my list. I'll post the results.
