Builders tag. Does anyone know these codes?
I lost the builders tag or builders sheet or whatever it is called. Below is the only picture I can find that is readable. the truck is a 1984 c10 1/2 ton 2WD 3 speed on the column and originally had the 250.
I can figure out the first two lines on the second column. I assume it says fleetside and 4.1 250L6. Does anyone know what the other lines are? or could be? maybe there is a cheat sheet so to speak to tell me what they mean. In case this inst readable I wrote out everything on a sheet of paper. I will post it next

Re: Builders tag. Does anyone know these codes?
here is what is visible from the picture.
If you just know what options that would show in those lines would be great as well!

Re: Builders tag. Does anyone know these codes?
Nice thank you! The interior color of dark maple is interesting. I wasn’t aware that was an option. I figured it was burgundy. That’s what most replacement parts look closest to it.
For the xyp and zyp lines do you know what type of option is usually listed their? Like brake systems or rear end gear ratio?

Re: Builders tag. Does anyone know these codes?
Xyp and zyp are probably the tire size front and rear mine are 225/75r15and listed as xlx and zlx with ylx as the spare in a 225/75r15. Gq1 is probably a 2.73 rear

Re: Builders tag. Does anyone know these codes?
That would make sense on the tire size. Thanks!

Re: Builders tag. Does anyone know these codes?
Here’s a big list of rpo codes.
You might find what you need in there. https://www.marshu.com/images-websit...-car-codes.pdf Your original tire size could have been 195 75 15’s. My old 84 had that size originally. |

But I wonder what the standard rear end gear ratio was. In this list the rpo for a 2.73 is GS1 among several others but GQ1 is the only standard ratio line it seems. And it doesn’t actually give a ratio. If 2.73 was standard why bother giving it several othe rpo codes?

X, Y, Z prefix are mounting positions.
YP suffix is 195/75R16 radial tires XYP is 195/75R15 Front YYP is 195/75R15 Rear ZYP is 195/75R15 Spare GM was fairly consistent about these RPO codes... The optional ratio noun name is reported because it always stays the same (ie, GU6 = 3.42; GT4 = 3.73). https://www.gmheritagecenter.com/doc...olet-Truck.pdf The standard axle ratio for your configuration was 2.73:1 K

Re: Builders tag. Does anyone know these codes?
It's called a SPID label (Service Parts ID label).
If you would like to have a new one made you can contact site member Jeff (chipflyer) and he will make you an authentic looking one. K

Re: Builders tag. Does anyone know these codes?
Isn't it kind of odd for an 84 to have the SPID on the inner fender?

Re: Builders tag. Does anyone know these codes?
I've seen them in either location on the same Model Year trucks. I figured it was assembly plant dependent. Keith may have more insight on it...
