1969 K5 Straight 6 swap
I currently have a 1969 k5 Blazer with 250 straight 6 I want to drop a 350 into it was wondering what is needed for this swap. I assume that it is a bolt in swap since 350 was available at the time? any suggestions from some one who has done this swap would be much appreciated!

Re: 1969 K5 Straight 6 swap
Well let me be the first to welcome you to the site sir! I have not done a 6 to 8 swap but various others. If my memory serves me you will need a different set of motor stands, also known as "perches" that bolt to the front cross member and the top of the frame rail. That will position the engine in the right place. After this you may have to change your transmission mount, or perhaps even relocate the transmission cross member. (further back would be my guess)
May I suggest you go to the drive train section of this forum, there are many guys who have done this with all the info you will need. Remember.... we all like pictures so don't be shy...Post'em up! |
