ride height with 2.5" drop??

So I finished the suspension rebuild/drop last night. When I put the truck back on the ground, it came out sitting way too low or so I think(pics below). Here's the specs: 2.5" CPP drop spindles, disc conversion, ECE stock? height front coils, everything else on the front end is relatively stock.

Anyway the drop seems too low, now when I pulled the old front coils out they were about 1.5-2" taller than the NEW "stock" height coils from ECE. I called ECE about this and they told me that someone had put different coils in my truck at some point in its life (which I know not to be true, I know every owner this truck has had) So against my better judgement I installed them and now the truck is sitting with the crossmember about 4" off the ground.

Is this the normal ride height for a 2.5" spindle drop??? I'll be calling ECE Monday morning to try to straighten this out

that looks like more than a 2.5 drop to me. unless your 17" wheels and tires really take up a lot of the fenderwell

maybe they sent you the wrong springs.

i was thinking that, but ECE didn't seem to think that was possible. the wheel/tire combo is 255/50 17, 27" tall.

Looks perfect to me...actually I like them lower. Nice truck just the same. I have some stockers I will measure if you want to compare.

it looks great yes, but i'm scared of it being too low. the headers have about 2.5" of clearance and the front crossmember is around 4". will i have problems with it this low??, this is a daily driver when the weather is nice. the other problem is the rear needs to be dropped farther to match the front stance, it currently at 4" and looks like it would need one more inch.

I bet that you got a 1 or 2 inch drop coil insted of the stocker. Looks good but the driverability is questionable... I would like to see it a bit higher if it was my driver.

Nice truck.

I like the stance the way it is. I put 2.5 drop spindles and 1 inch drop springs on my front end. Unfortunatley the cab and front end are off, so I can't compare ride hieght with your. For me I think mine should be lower. I may go to air bags after the truck is finished.

That looks like my 4" drop.... 2 1/2 spindles and 1 1/2 springs. I have 255/60/15's on the front and they are 26.7 tall. My truck doesn't look much lower if any at all.

You won't have any problems if you are very careful. I have the same exact problem you do. I am going to install some chevelle shorty headers and ece's 6" drop springs, shock relocators, and super track bar. I know what you mean about the rear looking like it needs to go down another inch, Drive it around and see what you think, I personally haven't smacked anything on the ground yet and I've had the spindles in since July. Oh be prepared for a little bouncy ride with the rear sitting up that much higher also. That's one of the big reasons I am going to lower the rear more. Let us know what you decide!

drop

That's about how mine looks with 2.5" ECE's in it. I have a set of Eibach's for the rear that dropped mine 5" if you want to trade for the 4" ECE's.......Zoomy

That's a great looking setup. I like the height and wheel/tire combo.

I'm ordering some wheels this next week. I really like that setup. I may now go with the 17s instead of the 18s.

Do you have any tire clearance problems? I'm installing some ECE drop spindles and their 2 inch drop springs. I'll be getting a similar looking wheel too.

Do you have a picture showing the whole side view of your truck?
