Question Header Install

The previous owner gave me a set of flowtech headers (not shorties) with the truck. Not the top of the line but since I have a exhaust manifold crack that is growing they will do the job. The question I have is this. When In installing the headers do you have the exhaust pipe go all the way into the header or do you have to cut it?
I have never installed headers before so I have no idea what I need to do.
Thanks in advance.

Cut off pipe right at the header, and get a collector flange welded on.
A muffler shop should be able to connect your pipes to your headers for minimal cash, and it'll last longer and be way better than clamps and stuff.

If you install the dead soft alluminum gaskets, you'll never have to replace them again...the paper junk (probably what came with them) will blow out in a couple weeks.
And if I say spend the money...it is most likely money well spent being I am so cheap.
