Aftermarket radio/antenna
I have purchased for my 56 an aftermarket radio, it's a PIONEER. Good radio. I've put the radio in a floor console that i made and thought of using a "hidden" antenna. The first one I purchased from Summit Racing, and that didn't work very well. I got very little radio signal, mostly fuzz to be exact. So I sent that one back. The 2nd one I purchased was from BEST BUY "their recommended power hidden antenna". The radio signal I get best is right in the middle of the front windshield. So for obvious reasons I am returning that one. They both were powered antenna's. So WHAT ARE YOU USING?? I'm leaning on going back to the standard stick antenna. I appreciate your assistance..

Re: Aftermarket radio/antenna
I used the stock antenna location but bought a stubby antenna. It works great and isn't very obvious.

Re: Aftermarket radio/antenna
I have heard tune trapper was supposed to be good, but have no experience. Everybody tells me the fm signal does not go through metal. That why it works better in the in windshield. I would try to mount it outside the cab some where. Maybe in a stake pocket.

Re: Aftermarket radio/antenna
I'm gonna do like ogre did...(I think it was him).....mount a full size regular antenna under the cab on the outside of the frame rail...simply put a piece of clear tubing over it to keep it from grounding out and rattling..
