Question 1970 C20 Shifter Replacement

Hello,

New member - first post.

I have a 1970 C20. It is a 3 on the tree setup and no power steering. Also, no tilt function.

A few days ago, the shifter hub cracked. (I hate pot metal.) I need either a replacement part or the complete column. Since the steering wheel is ratty and it needs a horn button, shifter knob, etc. I am leaning towards a complete used column/wheel assembly if I can find a decent one at the bone yard. So, here's the assumptions and questions ...

I assume a GMC column would work without mods. Right?

I assume that C20 columns from other years will fit without modifications.

What year columns will interchange? All 67-72?

Are C10 columns interchangeable with the C20 column without mods? Since C10s are much more plentiful, this would be very helpful.

Are there any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Dave
