Need help identiying wire on '81 Chevy Silverado
I have a 1981 Chevy Silverado C10 and I am trying to restore as much as possible. I cannot figure out what a shielded wire I found on the passenger side of engine compartment goes to. It does not have a typical connector on the end, it seems to be some sort of "metal block" and it runs down the passenger side but I cannot determine what it is.
As I stated before it is shielded, kind of like a "coax" but smaller. I really need some help here. Does anyone know of this wire and where it connects to? Thanks so much!

Nope, it looks almost like a small coax with a block type end. I have no idea.

Wire that connects the in-windshield radio antenna to the radio?

Knock sensor?
Or ,it could go to the air filter housing. A picture would really help. Mike. ![]() |

Well here are some pics. Since it is a 1981 I don't think it is a knock sensor...

Re: Need help identiying wire on '81 Chevy Silverado
Sorry but the AC Compressor is on the other side of engine compartment. This wire seems to be routed to the Passenger side lower region. At least that is where it is now, running along the main harness on the Passenger side.
Also, the whitish colored part actually is movable. It can be positioned in different angles etc. Thanks for all the help so far.

Another wild guess!
Circulating block heater! That might be the plug for it. |

Found out, you are right, it was for a circulating block heater. Thanks all!
