Flaming river R & P

I have been checking around this site for info on flaming river rack and pinion setup and if anyone has installed and or uses one. I see several comments on the expense but for what you get compared to replacing all the stock stuff it’s not bad, but still haven’t heard if they fit, work and quality. Any comments are welcome cause I’m seriously thinking of taking the plunge

Re: Flaming river R & P

I was in a similar situation. I replaced the stock system with the flaming river shortly after purchasing my 70. I priced rebuilding the stock components and decided to take the plunge. My truck is 250 6. I did have a clearance issue with the oil pan which necessitated lifting the frame motor mounts with 1/2 inch flat stock. Also had to get creative with the power steering pump mount. I’m not thrilled with my solution, but it works. Used a combination of the included abc mounts and a vintage air bracket welded together. If you have a 350, you can disregard all of the above. I would expect a pretty smooth install!

Thanks I’m really surprised this is not a more popular set up especially with this group of folks. I will be using a small block. Doing a complete frame off

Re: Flaming river R & P

I've been looking at a No Limit Engineering's R&P since my box needs a rebuild.

I looked at those to, but add in column and everything else you need to convert flaming river has the complete package matched and ready. Cost is pretty much the same if you add it all up
