Door molding channel

What is the preferred way to remove the door channel that holds the door molding? I need to work on the dash of the 54 and need to remove some of the channel.

Is there a replacement channel available if I mess it up?

Re: Door molding channel

I think I saw that on the bowtiebits site the other day.

http://www.bowtiebits.com/store/stor...Category_ID=27

says that it is spot welded in place.

Re: Door molding channel

I have to save that, don't know what I am going to use. I have a set of the stock 48 retainers, but I don't know what I will use.

Re: Door molding channel

Thanks Joe, that is what I was looking for.

I didn't know the correct name again, so it didn't pop up when I was looking. Of course, I didn't go to Bowtie bits site, but I did try Ecklers and Chevs of the 40's.
