New from Colorado '66 Chevy K10
After searching on this forum for awhile and getting a ton of info, I decided to join .
I have a 1966 Chevy K10 1/2 ton with a 292 engine. Just recently upgraded the exhaust, ignitor , and rebuilt the carb and this thing is running strong. Most of my time now will be used to research suspension and disc brake options. I don't want much of a lift at all, but the leaf springs are tired and one leaf spring mounting brackets is broken. I do plan to pull my drive train out of my K5 Blazer ( crate 350,700R4, and transfer case ) and install that into the "66. I do feel a little guilty removing the stock setup out of the '66, but I can get the power I want for my daily driver and it will be a bit cheaper to build the 350. Looking forward to learning!
