Need help with identifying vintage gmc
Hello men nubie here need a little help figuring out what truck my family has. They were getting ready to have it picked up for 100 dollars and sent to junk yard. I am no stud when it comes to cars but I don't think this is a junk truck. I've been told it's a 48 not sure I also think it's 1 ton or larger here's the numbers I got off passengers side fire wall plate any help would be greatly appreciated model number cc30 3 horsepower 87 serial number 45346 p at number 3000 and under that it says 14,000 but I can't see what it's for and the p on the end of that serial number maybe it's a b part of it's worn off I'm not for sure on that either sorry. It was parked in the early 80s after taking a load of Olives to Market so it's complete it just needs a little love I don't want to see it go to the junkyard

Re: Need help with identifying vintage gmc
On the drivers side door post there should be a tag just above the bottom hinge. It should have a gross weight on it and it should have a serial number stamped in it. You can go to the Old GMC site http://www.oldgmctrucks.com/index.html Click on the serial number link and follow the yellow brick road.
Photos really help. We need a couple from back far enough we can see the whole truck. Then one of the tag on the door post to begin with.
