HEI vac. can removal ?

I have a bad vacuum canister on my truck and had a fight trying to get one off my spare and don,t want to fight getting the other off on the truck as you know it is kinda in a tough spot . Is there a trick to doing this , couldn,t find anything on u tube but maybe different wording might find it

Well, it's only 2 screws. Just make sure you have a good screwdriver that fits tight and won't strip them. They should screw right out. You may have to remove the rotor, I can't remember. I use the screwdriver again to push down on the actuator arm to get it out of the hole. Be careful not to move the distributor plate too much because you could pull the wires out of the pick up coil.

After you remove the screws,pull the advance forward some so you can push the rod down.
There's a small opening where the rod will go down and out of the arm.
