Is this a Drain plug in my torque converter?
I opened up my new torque converter box today and found this plug on the converter. Is it a drain plug or what would this be for? Never seen one like it before. Anyone else have something like this on their converter? I'm hoping it was balanced with the plug in it.

Looks like a drain plug and also looks like someone rounded off the head of it.

Yes.
I have had a few convertors with a drain plug in them.

That's a drain plug! Typically used when doing a fluid change.

Specs on the converter?
I too had not seen one with a drain plug. Curious that. I would want to manually spin the motor around a few times after install to ensure it isn't contacting anything. -klb

I've seen where some transmission shops will open a hole when doing a rebuild, to get the converter nice and clean. They usually put in a small plug that uses a hex key, and is about the same mass as the metal that was removed from the converter shell. MOPAR used to have plugs in their converters, back in the day.

It doesn't contact anything. I spun it already. I don't want to change it as it was probably balanced with it in. It would have been nicer with a Allan key plug but it works.
