K20 Front Spring Mount Wear
Went through this a couple weeks ago. While looking under the truck with someone slowly turning the steering wheel I noticed the front bushing on the drivers side front spring was clearly shot. Lots of play, suspected it was maybe worse than that. The steering issues with these trucks is obviously well documented, the frame just gets massively torqued up front. So I got a new bushing and when I disassembled everything I found the holes through both sides of the front spring mount where egg shaped. The outer hole had worn out at the top and the inner hole was worn towards the bottom, I guess because of the way the force is applied. I guess you could cut the rivets and find a new mount. I opted to weld both holes up and redrilled them. Maybe something to look for. Noticeable handling improvement.
