Drum Brake Parking Brake Strut
I am looking for a Parking Brake strut for my rebuild of my drum brakes.
Napa was not able to help me, Rock Auto doesn't have a listing as far as I can tell. Does anyone have a part number to order one? Thanks to RSLAUGHTER for uploading this picture for me to use.

You can't post a "Want To Buy" unless you are a Premium member. If you click on the word "subscribe" in the menu bar above it will explain the different membership options. Once you are a premium member you can post a WTB on the 67-72 parts board. If you go check out the 67-72 parts board and happen to see one for sale you can buy it, you just can't post a WTB. I did a soft edit on your post. EDIT: I don't normally suggest this but you might try LMC and search for part # 34-4682. Thanks, LockDoc

Besides which, it looks to me like he's just looking for information...not asking for someone to sell them to him.

Re: Drum Brake Parking Brake Strut
Found one. Looked for my vehicle 70 C20. Might be able to
Rock Auto search: https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...ke+strut,10715 Rock Auto product page: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...031690&jsn=573 Dorman Product Page: https://www.dormanproducts.com/p-1830-21149.aspx Some vehicles it claims it works for left and right, but for our vehicles it says it is left side only. EDIT Looks like this gives you another search term also: Brake Bar Lever

Re: Drum Brake Parking Brake Strut
I noticed in all these links that they are only for c-20s, do they not use them for a c-10 as well?

Re: Drum Brake Parking Brake Strut
I’m installing an ebrake setup on my 63 C20; I have an 8 lug rear end from an 83 pickup.
Hoping that diagram will help me identify what I need to purchase. I don’t think I have all those ebrake parts in there.

Re: Drum Brake Parking Brake Strut
It's been a number of years since I did up my brakes, but check Dorman part # 21152.
Here is the link when I asked this same question. Check out post #5 in the thread. His link is dead, but I believe that's the part number I ended up using. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=708662

I have this part, #21152 and it is too short.
My brakes are 13” width is 2.5”. I don’t think it’s the right one. RockAuto shows this number for 13” brakes, but I don’t think it’s going to work. Posted via Mobile Device If you look at the pic, it barely fits in the slots without falling out. |

Re: Drum Brake Parking Brake Strut
Has anyone used a part like this on 80s trucks?
It looks correct, since it has the notch to catch the brake cable.

Re: Drum Brake Parking Brake Strut
Pic. I haven't tried it but there was a thread I found a couple years ago about this and someone had used this part and it worked

Re: Drum Brake Parking Brake Strut
I don’t think I have the right setup. If I want to run a parking brake cable, I still have to put that part in, the one I mentioned above.
Now, I’m thinking a conversion to discs might be better. https://lugnut4x4.com/product/14-bolt-semi-float/ Pretty sure I have a semi float, 8 lug, 14 bolt rear end. I think I can even buy just the bracket for the caliper, then buy stock rotors and calipers for 73+ Chevy trucks. https://www.skysoffroaddesign.com/products/corp-dbb-14b
