61 Chevy Apache Fuse Box

I've just got this truck earlier this week and the windshield wipers don't work. The guy I bought it from had it for 5 years but never bothered even looking at them because he never drove the truck in the rain.

I'm trying to upload a picture of my fuse box and hopefully the image will attach. Looks like I'm missing most of the fuses.

The truck is now equipped with a 350 small block, tranny and power steering from a 76 - 78 Chevy truck.

Can anyone tell me what they think is going on with that fuse box?

I've got a friend with a square body (not sure which year) and he referred me to mechanic he has used that makes house calls.

He is coming over tomorrow afternoon. My friend and I both independently came up with the same question... does this fuse box connect another one?

Not sure, but at his point I'm going wait on the professional.

Fuse box looks odd to me, I am not the expert. My 62 had 2x that many fuses.

not many fuses in these old trucks, not like the new ones that have a fuse for everything. go to the facts at the top op the page and start reading--good info.

Ok fellas. Thanks for all your feedback. I'm gonna tell on myself more. My neighbor referred me to a master mechanic that makes house calls after work. He came by today and got my wipers working in 2 minutes.
Like 61K10 says... the are not many fuses in these old trucks. It turns out there is not one for the wipers. Instead they run off a relay.
He simply followed the wire and found that it was plugged into it socket. Plugged it in, ask me which dial is supposed to control it, I showed him, he turned it and the words worked for the first time in at least five years (previous owner never bothered fixing them).
Also, credit to DPowers who suggested that I might want to update the wiring. The mechanic said, they did a horrible job with this writing during the rebuild.
Overall, he says Ol Truck is in pretty good shape.
He is going to fix a transmission leak for me and a turn signal busted down inside the column.
I asked him about later replacing the drums for disc brakes and he said the system plays would run $500 - $600 and the labor would be around $200. That sounds super reasonable to me... any thoughts?
Eventually, I would like to turn the wrench on some of this stuff myself, not to save money, but just to get the satisfaction of working on it myself, but right now I just want stuff fixed fast so that I can pass inspection, get registered and drive this thing!

61K10 also gave you some great advice. Go to the FAQs section and read- alot. Use the knowledge from others on this board that have done it already, including the mistakes. But oh what fun it is.
