Door Panel ?

Have ‘79 Squarebody and was wanting to put 81-87 door panels in it. I have read everything from direct bolt up to have to drill new holes to will need 81-87 inside handles and window cranks to will not work at all. I know it would need the 81-87 arm rest.
Anyone done or tried this? If so what was involved?
Thanks!

Re: Door Panel ?

i put a drivers rear door from a '77 sub on my '85 crew.
was a few yrs ago, all i remember having to do was slightly bend the door lock and door handle rods a little bit to line up. i used the '85 door handle, have'nt owned a '70's sq for about 15 yrs now, but i belive
the older dr handle is wider and wont fit or line up in the slot properly
fit like a glove, '85 panel on a '77 door, the rear door though...
