What do you have now? What are you looking to do with it? Surf the net for rims and see what style you like the best. 5 lug rims seem to have more choices than 6 lug rims.

Re: 5 bolt or 6
assume you have 6 and are considering 5. folks seldom go the other direction. comes down to which wheels you want to run. if you're happy with a 6 lug, then you can keep your 6 lug (that sounds familiar...) Anyway, swapping to disks not an issue - if you like 6 lug, there are 6 lug disk kits out there. do note, however, that pre-71 stock 6 lug steelies do not clear the caliper on 71+ factory disk brakes, you'd need aftermarket wheels or 71+ K5/K10 wheels.

Re: 5 bolt or 6
So thanks for the replies, I'm thinking I want to chase down a pre 70 12 bolt, it will save me an 11/2 and allow for a wider tire, I'll just rebuild it to 3:73 and move the shock perches. I will be going to 5 lug, disc brake conversion if required.unless you guys know of another rear end out there 62 1/8 or less? As near as I can figure any 1 will work as long as it's a 3 inch tube dia.
Trying to do this on a budget, 2k plus on a moser already set up isn't in the cards lol I'm in upstate Ny if anybody has something laying around Scott |

Re: 5 bolt or 6
If I could redo it I would go 5 bolt. My 68 has 4 wheel discs with 6 lug. Wheel selection is very small (for what I wanted) and I ended up dropping a good bit for a nice set of wheels. I haven't even been able to put them on yet. Went with a set of Rocket Racing Booster 6. Go 5 lug, save some cash.

Go 5 lug when possible.
