Speakers that will fit under bench seat????
Has anyone put 6x9 speakers with the standard box enclosures under the stock bench of a 67-72 pu?? Wanting to know if it fits.
Just got a Custom AutoSound slide bar reproduction radio to install for Xmas and was wanting 6x9’s under the seat but wanted to see if they would fit - looks like they would.... Also open to other suggestions. Need to fit them under seat since my original gas tank is still behind the seat. Thanks |

I’m interested in this, too! I want to retain the stock interior and not use kickpanel speakers.

Re: Speakers that will fit under bench seat????
I used 4x10 speakers and made boxes to fit on there back, they can slide in under the seat when you don't want a lot of tune and can slide out when to rock out

Should fit no problem. Know of a few trucks with 2 10” subwoofers under factory seat

Re: Speakers that will fit under bench seat????
Would like to find some large Bluetooth speakers that could fit under the seat so I could stream from my phone. That way I could leave my stock AM that works in there as well...

Re: Speakers that will fit under bench seat????
I put four 6" round speakers under my seat. I built the speaker boxes out of pine and they sit facing upward under the seat. The depth of the boxes are(from top to bottom) approx. 1.5" to 2.0". I was concerned that the speakers would sound poorly since they are facing up, but I was pleasantly surprised how good they sound. I went with a lower end Retro radio and it performs nicely also. I think I spent about $250 on the entire effort. Overall, I'm really satisfied with the appearance of the radio and the sound of the radio/speakers. I would rather have a stock AM/FM radio for a more original appearance, but I couldn't find one that looked very good. After installing the retro, I'm not how they jammed a stock radio in AC trucks, not much real estate under there.

Re: Speakers that will fit under bench seat????
I used these and they sounded pretty decent. No holes in the kickpanels or doors. They fit under a stock seat.
