There are two phillips head screws under the edge of the dash that hold the unit in place. The light bulb holder plugs into the left side in the back, and the wiring for the heater switch plugs into the switch on the right side. Here is a thread I posted about removing the small round keepers from the control cables: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=211815 and a thread where I posted which cables go where on the heater boxes (Post #4): http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=241369 LockDoc

Re: Heater controls ?
Do you only have one fan speed then? This would be a good time to put it back to original as long as you have to take it out anyway..... LockDoc

Re: Heater controls ?
I'm not going to order on of those kits. They don't have the clear plastic part. Instead the give you a skicker to put over it. I don't like that and it doesn't come wit a new fan swich. $ 40 for the kit +$20 for the swich. $60 total. I don't have the funds for that right now so instead I'm going get another asembly form another pickup. Well a c50. Thare the same right? As for the swich I'll get a new one but not right now looks easy to replace under the dash

Not sure on the C50, it's been a long time since I looked at one. If the C50 unit will work it should have the switch on it. Don't forget to get the resistor. It will be in the top of the interior heater box. The wires from the switch run to it and it takes a 5/16 wrench to remove it. Be careful with it, it can be kind of fragile.... LockDoc

Re: Heater controls ?
I got a new header control today one from a 67 c20.
It had a better display and the lever i needed. The back of the top lever whare the cable attached to was broken on the new one so I tryed to remove the knob on it so if I broke it it did not matter. Well let me tell you those knobs don't whant to come off. I ended up brakeing it. So I will not try it with the lever I need. Ether way I still came out on top. The heater controls where not the only thing I grabed I allso got a taillight and a horn button. I gusess I will buy one of those rebuild kits avenchaly Picher 1st one on the right is the new one one on left is old 2nd old controls with new display 3rd new conto with old display
