1972 cheyenne k20
Hey guys. Just picked up a 72 cheyenne super k20. I want to put it back to stock ride height. It has 4" lift in it now, anyways my question is what is the best factory replacement suspension parts? Thanks in advance, i think i will need leaf springs front and rear ( rear appears to have block added for the lift, front does not)

Re: 1972 cheyenne k20
Welcome aboard! If you could post some photos of the suspension folks would be better able to spot what may have been changed.

Re: 1972 cheyenne k20
Tuff Country makes a nice 2 inch lift spring. The '72 on the left has these springs. Off Road Design sells them. My 69 is raised about 1 1/2 inches.
I don't know anyone that sells the stock springs... |

Re: 1972 cheyenne k20
There are a number of companies that sell replacement springs for 67-72 trucks. SDTruck springs sells them. I've researched this as I plan on lowering my K1500 this summer. It has the Tuff Country 2" spring lift and it turned out to high for my taste. Also, Off Road Design sells a zero rate spring that can be added to stock springs that will lift truck 1" and move rear axle back 1" to center it in the wheel well. Attached a picture of my K1500...does that look like a 2" lift?

Re: 1972 cheyenne k20
The only factory replacement parts would be factory replacement springs. Any spring shop can build you a set or rebuild used originals, such as re-arching/adding a leaf. I always hang onto my original parts when I modify. Too bad everyone doesn't.

Re: 1972 cheyenne k20
For myself a six inch lift is a bit much for me. Had a four inch on my last K truck and I ripped out the crotch on a couple pair of jeans trying to hoist myself up into the truck. My trucks with a two inch lift were just right .. Its an excellent look and your jeans should be safe =)
Im curious about the wheels and tires on your truck. Can you tell me what size and brand they are. Same with the wheel ... OEM or aftermarket? If I had a play only truck your truck as it sits now would be a cool look, just need to get me some stretchy pants |

Re: 1972 cheyenne k20
Thanks guys . It’s even nicer in person. Now I’m debating on whether putting a original engine in transmission back in it or going modern... it’s so nice and original I’d hate to hack it up.

Re: 1972 cheyenne k20
Nice truck , If you have a desire to sell that lift kit let me know I would be interested in it , ,some lift manufacturers have quit making kits for the 67/72 trucks

Re: 1972 cheyenne k20
Thanks for posting the SPID. What a great truck. I'm not normally an any inch lift sorta guy, but WOW that is just about the perfect tire and wheel combo for this truck's lift, looks really nice.
