LS1 Swap 79 Chevy K20
LS1 Swap 79 Chevy K20 - I have other build threads on my trucks, the link is in my sig. I wanted to make a dedicated thread for the LS swap portion of this build, and show how I'm handling it on this particular project. I would still encourage anyone getting ready to do a swap to browse through the great builds in this section. Here goes.
Engine: 5.3 block bored, with LS1 pistons. LS1 Heads. Truck oil pan, Truck Intake, with returnless rail. Truck Coils. Truck Accessories. Drive by cable throttle body Stock Radiator. Stock Fan shroud. Stock Engine crossmember. 2005 Silverado Air box, intake piping and battery tray. 411 PCM. Painless Harness. 99 Fbody Exhaust Manifolds(for now) Stock LS1 cam (for now) Transmission: I plan to run a 4L80E(2wd long slip yoke), attached to an NP205, using an adapter from Advance Adapters. The transfer case was originally from a figure 8 SM465, and has already been machined. Fuel System: 87 K5 Blazer, TBI gas tank (BAFFLED) 87 K5 Blazer, sender assy upgraded with an EP381 Delco Pump. -6 Russel lines and fittings. LS1 Corvette fuel filter / regulator. Here are the first two videos of the swap, which I'm currently working on. If you have questions fill free to ask. |

Re: LS1 Swap 79 Chevy K20
Video #3 for the LS1 swap. Lot's of projects within the larger project. In this video I fab'd up some supports for the battery tray and air box plate that came off the 2005 Silverado. Almost seems like the little projects take the most time, but it's cool to look at something when it's done that you had no idea what you were gonna do at the beginning.
