72 GMC K15 build
Going to try and restore this truck frame up, going to drop in my 6.0ls and a sm465. Still undecided on what brand of lift I’m going to get small 2.5” lift and 33s are the goal. I am the second or 3rd owner, on the options it cane with 350/350 np205 power brakes steering, cab lights no-spin axle, dome lights, 556 color code, oil temp, 127”wheel base and all basic things. Hopefully the pictures work. Will be posting more soon.

Re: 72 GMC K15 build
Update as of now. Vin on frame matches cab couldn’t find much on info on that but the last 6 numbers should match your last 6 on your vin. I’ll post a picture of it. For Orginal licnce plates the state wants ones from the year of manufacture so would that be 71 that’s when I’m pretty sure this truck was made even though it is a 72 year model what do you guys think?

Re: 72 GMC K15 build
Quick update, frame is at powder coater, 12bolt is disassembled, Danna 44 I’m having some trouble with very rusty hopefully send those out here soon. Also went to the DMV and they said I need 1972 plates for the truck and can drive it everyday with those on. Also a 4” skyjacker soft ride lift has been bought.

Re: 72 GMC K15 build
Haven’t done much lately got the axles powder coated waiting to get them back, got the 4in leaf springs on. Think I’m going to go with a 4l80e for convenience.

Thank you, I have slowed down a bit here now waiting on the axles to get back from the rebuilder 4:10s and posi rear. Everything will be fresh on them.
