1976 HighSieria 35 utility bed removal, any ideas on a replacement?

I have owned this truck for some time now, bought it from a board member as a no rust excellent roller (no engine/transmission) years ago. It now has a 22,000 mile 454 in it with a turbo 400 trans.
I no longer use the utility for my tools or work so I’m thinking about removing the bed and doing something else. Just not sure about “something else” so I’m looking for ideas. I’m not sure if there is a period correct dually truck bed that would fit it? Maybe a Aluminum flatbed? Custom hippie camper?

Thanks for any ideas, comments or ideas...

Hard to tell...is that a c&c...or a dually....if it's a c&c a dually bed won't look right on it with the narrow rear axle.....I like the c&m style beds myself...I built the one on my 81

Custom flat bed for an ATV complete with custom hitch for your camping trailer and storage area for the ATV ramps. Bonus points for including a streamlined ATV shield in the bed design.

Maybe use the Bug in the background as the basis for a street legal ATV.

flat beds are sexy .

and the one pic above looks good but i think that flat bed design is a bit to modern for our square body trucks with the side skirts .

Old work trucks are cool! I would run it as is. It looks like you already have a nice dually.

Ideas: Empty the heavy stuff out of the boxes and get drop shackles if the back end pops up too much. Clean it up and run it as a cruiser / utility / help truck. Get an era-correct camper and reframe the lower section to fit between the utility boxes.

I think it's great, I'd love to have one just like it. PM me if you want me to have one EXACTLY like it ;) GREAT camping rig. Could span the bed across the boxes and rig a canvas tent up there. An old olive drab tent would look just right with the paint and patina and you would be the envy of the campground.
