12-bolt axle length

I have a 70 c10 with a 12-bolt rear end. The length of the rear end and the stamped code indicate that it is the wide rear end. I want to convert it to 5 lug axles. Can I just buy replacement axles for a 70-71 c10? What length axles do I need?

Re: 12-bolt axle length

The only real way to be sure you get the correct axles is to remove your current axles and measure them.

I am also in Cypress. I am sending you a PM.

Re: 12-bolt axle length

Measure from the wheel mount surface, outside flange you brake drum goes up against to the very end of the axle. It should be about 31.5" if its the wider axle. If not its the shorter at 30.5"
