steering column slop
Next problem. My wife's '91 suburban has developed some slop in the steering column where it tilts. I'm wondering if anyone knows if this is a linkage adjustment and how you go about tackling this issue? Do you have to remove the steering wheel and go in that way? Any input? Thanks!

Look here That has a post from Big Burb that is one of the best I have seen on fixing that problem. AutoZone will lend you the Lock plate tool.

walleye I JUST did this a few weeks ago on my 91 burb. its challenging but not impossible. The problem is there are 4 bolts and the very core of the tilt mechanism that come loose. All that has to be done is they must be tightened but its getting to them that makes it fun! Let me know if you need any info

Thanks Dude! I'll be out of town for about a week so, it'll be awhile before I get to this task. If, in a week or so, you hear me screaming from northern Oregon you'll know I need help. Taking things apart has never been a problem for me... it's what to do with all those extra parts that are left over after I put it back together!!! Thanks again and I'll post how it goes. Walleye1
