Came home from the body shop yesterday
I tend to lurk for info but forget to show updates on the progress. Here's a pic as it arrived from the body shop yesterday. Just a shell on a rolling frame. Lots still to do.

Ohhh Green! Nice nice nice! I'm hoping for painted bumpers and mirrors to put it over the top. Congratulations on a great job!

Re: Came home from the body shop yesterday
Thanks, all. Looking forward to getting it on the road. It's mostly going back the way it was in the beginning, so the bed is painted #2 southern yellow pine.
68Gold/white: I live just west of Des Moines (Adel). HO455: I agree the white mirrors and bumpers on light green pickups look great, but this one is a Custom and came with chrome, so chrome it will be again. Painted mirror arms, though.

[/QUOTE] I never disagree with going back to stock. Back in the day I'm sure that getting chrome bumpers set you apart from all the working trucks.

Re: Came home from the body shop yesterday
I love that color. My wife won't have it, at least without constantly letting me know that she doesn't like it. It's ok, we always find a win-win.
But It is this exact color that I remember as an early child sitting in the front seat of a slick, clean, fancy truck that felt like it was too nice to really drive. That aqua color always made me felt like I was on a sleek sea vessel (I was 6 years old) Keep the progress coming. It inspires others.

Re: Came home from the body shop yesterday
Light green looks great on these pickups, doesn't it?
tjc, I had the bodywork and paint done at Scott's Customs and Collision in Dexter, IA. Scott was in line with the other quote I got, and he was easy to work with. I was upfront about the fact that this would not need to be a show-quality job--it's a very nice 3-season driver. I'm happy with the results.
