T221 lube opinions
Just finishing up a rebuild of my T221 and wondering if anybody out there has opinions on what lube is best to keep it happy. I keep a bucket of both GL 4/5 and Synthetic gear lubes for my old junk, and would tend to use one or the other unless somebody has a better suggestion.
For the record I always use a mag plug and change the lube every two years in all the trans/x-fers and diffs I own. Thanks for any input Tom

Guy who rebuilt mine recommended not using synthetic, so wondering what others have had good luck with. Never used oil stabilizer, I'll have to read up on it

IIRC I ran 85w - 140 wt Valvoline when I had mine. Ive been synthetic for the past couple of years with the 205 though. Its a mix of Amsoil MTL and Redline Shockproof Light.

Re: T221 lube opinions
I would just put the same oil you're putting in the 420. Keep it the same and you can just get the GL/4. I've been getting the Sta-Lube off Amazon.

Re: T221 lube opinions
I stick with plain 90w gear oil.

A straight 90 should work fine.
