Incorrect Step Bumper?

This appears to be the incorrect step bumper for a '67 C10. Thoughts?

Re: Incorrect Step Bumper?

Looks period correct to me. I think the different brands were a regional thing. That looks like a barden brand to me

Re: Incorrect Step Bumper?

I agree with Dale, it's period correct. Not sure how many trucks left the factory with a rear step bumper, but an awful lot of trucks had no factory bumper and the dealership would install an aftermarket bumper. There were a few different brands / suppliers so they didn't all necessarily look exactly the same.

Same as my 68. One tough bumper. I got hit in the back right side, bent the bumper bracket a little, demolished the front end if the van that hit me, didn't even scratch my paint but whipped my head back into the back glass slight concussion. Ain't dead yet. Have a good one.

Re: Incorrect Step Bumper?

I agree it looks like a Barden brand bumper. They were built in Woodland, CA which is about 2 hours North of the old Fremont plant. Especially if it were sold new around the Bay Area chances are good it was a Barden that was installed on it. Have the same one on mine and on our 71 Ford too. They are STOUT bumpers.

Re: Incorrect Step Bumper?

I have that exact bumper on my 1971 k10. It is shown on the spid as a v43 option. Not sure if it was a factory option in 67

Re: Incorrect Step Bumper?

That is the factory step bumper for 67-71. '72 had a one year only stamped step bumper the same width (approx. 4"). It is original to your truck if your SPID lists one. Dealer or owner installed if not.
