Re: front bumper
First one is my mess with stock frame and bumper that may not be adjusted as well as it should be. Photo was to see how the 49 Plymouth bumper might look.
Second one is a nice truck that was at the Sea Galley cruise night last August

Re: front bumper
Between my laptop and the messed up internet I can't upload more than one or two at a time.
I welded two pieces of angle iron that I had drilled holes in and bolted the bumper brackets to on mine when it was subfamed in the early 80's. I lined it up and welded it up. Depending on the subframe you may have to fab some support structure to hold the pieces that the brackets bolt to.

Re: front bumper
I'm thinking just below the bottom grill bar. The green truck is as close to perfect as you will find anywhere and the black one isn't far behind.
Hopefully everything on the truck is lined up and squared up right. On reason I will never do another subframe job or frame swap.

Re: front bumper
The top of the front bumper filler is even with the bottom of the lowest grille bar and about 3/4" out from it.

Re: front bumper
interesting - my splash panel fits under the bottom bar of the grill & bolts to the 5 front bolts that hold the bumper to the brackets. there are no bolts or screws holding the panel to the under side of the grill

Re: front bumper
You dont want the splash apron bolted to the bumper and the grill...the body can move around a little on the mounting pads...and the bumper wont move with it...could cause problems if bolted together.......

Re: front bumper
Here's a pic from the assy. manual. This shows the filler panel attached to the bumper, and bumper backets to the stock frame.

Re: front bumper
I modified my front bumper and made my own filler panel, so I had it close to the fender with about a 1/8" to 3/16" gap. It was even with the bottom grill bar with same gap. Here's a couple pics

Re: front bumper
That is a good fit.
I'd say close, even and not touching.
