What is everyone’s favorite rust encapsulator?
I have used Bill Hirsch miracle paint and Por 15 in the past with varying success. I really want to coat hard to get areas and floors in the Blazer I’m doing. Any reviews would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve used por 15 as well. Seems to last if prepped correctly. I’ve heard it doesn’t hold up to sunlight without a topcoat.

That is very true, no UV protectant. I found out the hard way here in sunny south Florida.

I used rust x about a year ago on a frame. So far, so good but the truck has been kept inside too.

I've used with excellent success "Rust Bullet." As long as the metal is sound (i.e. large chucks of rust scale and dirt are removed with a scraper or wire wheel), I have not had it fail on any rust repair. It is nasty stuff. Once you open the can you have to use the whole can.

Re: What is everyone’s favorite rust encapsulator?
Thank you for the review. I have never heard of it and will look into that. That’s what I found out with miracle paint if you didn’t use it all at one shot. If you put the lid back on you can’t ever get it back off. So what I have done to combat that is put kitchen plastic wrap over the can and put the lid back on.

Re: What is everyone’s favorite rust encapsulator?
Here's good reading, although I don't have much experience here in calif.
https://garage.eastwood.com/eastwood...-vs-converter/ On the ships we used to just "pin-hole" the heavy rust with little pointed hammers and then apply phosphoric acid directly on after that. Did that help? I didn't think so, just running my fingers.
