Anyone using abs plastic firewall pad?
I ran across this and was wondering if anyone has used one? What about the abs kick panels? How was the fit? Any noticeable improvements?
https://www.tuckersparts.com/insulat...roofing-60-66/ I'm in the middle of a snow ball effect of interior upgrades. I've always wanted to have spray texture on the floor, firewall, and kick panels and just have a factory style floor mat, but I'm not excited about the look of lizard skin and bed liner offers no insulation. Plus it's pretty much permanent if I ever change my mind. I was thinking this would replicate the look I want, I could insulate underneath, use a full floor vinyl mat and Bobs my uncle. Anyone tried these abs panels? |

Buuummmp. Before I become the test dummy, does anyone have a picture of the brothers replacement insulation? I've seen it mentioned that it is rubber instead of cardboard but I can't find a picture of one installed. Thanks!

Bump once again...
This time for the ABS firewall pad set offered by Car and Truck Shop. Does anyone have experience with this kit? I'd like to lay some Dynamat under it too, if possible.

Re: Anyone using abs plastic firewall pad?
Never used the stuff you have listed. But I have plastic kick panels with speakers in them. They look nice and give a cleaner look than nothing. We did insulate under them but not sure I could say it made a huge difference. But then again I just have the kick panels in plastic.

Re: Anyone using abs plastic firewall pad?
I got my firewall pad from Brothers (not abs). I'm pleased with the look and fit but I didn't use the plastic mounting tabs. Instead I bought well nuts and s/s bolts as suggested by someone else on this forum.

Re: Anyone using abs plastic firewall pad?
I put one in an old Ford panel truck I was helping restore. It was a real good fit & looked nice.

Re: Anyone using abs plastic firewall pad?
UPDATE: so I ordered the ABS firewall pad set above from the Car and Truck Shop. I go to open it and there are NO HOLES cut into the padding, just the plastic. Am I to assume that we have to cut them ourselves? I paid waaay too much to be dealing with that.

Re: Anyone using abs plastic firewall pad?
I bought one for my 53 Chev 3100 back in 2017 and was overall pleased with the fit. Looks really good in there too.

Re: Anyone using abs plastic firewall pad?
Turned out fantastic. I assume all the holes were pre-cut?

Re: Anyone using abs plastic firewall pad?
That does looks good. While I think the black look perfect in your 53, is the ABS plastic paintable? Not that black wouldn't look fine.
