Does this z-bar, bellcrank look serviceable?

Just bought a '72 c-10 with 3-speed and the z-bar is really slopply. I just took it apart. It looks like it might be o.k. but this is the first one I've seen.

I know there is a felt washer, but is this everything for the frame side?

Other than felt, there was nothing on the engine side. Are there any parts that go here?

Also in the above image you can see that the ball stud is loose in the bracket. Part of the staking is broken off of the back side. The ball stud should be firmly mounted to the bracket, right? I suspect this is where I'm getting a lot of slop. Maybe I can get it spot welded.

Here the engine side has a few chunks missing. This shouldn't be a problem should it?

Finally, does the frame side ball mount in the forward slot as indicated by the red arrow? Mine was riding in the yellow slot which looks like it has been worn into the bracket. I know there is a retainer that goes under the nut but mine is missing. Item 12 below.

thanks for your opinions,
John

Yes it looks very serviceable. Get that nipple welded back on. Put it all back together and get that little plate and you will be good to go...

By all means, do your self a favor and get #12 from your local GM House. When I first got my 71 4x4 the clutch Z-bar kept "jumping" out of the frame side bracket. Put it back in, align and tighten everthing and before long it would pop out again. After doing some research found out about #12 (retaining clip). VERY useful item. Got one, put it in, no more problem ! I have a spare or two just to be on the safe side. Not very expensive but very useful.
