1973 crew cab c30

I recently bought a 1976 c30 crew cab 454 with a 4 speed with factory air conditioning. Its just a parts truck but the cab doesn't have hardly any rust or dents, the rest of the truck is just about junk. i'm not too familiar with this style of truck, i have been told that factory air conditioning cabs are hard to find. I hate to just crush a good part if it is usable or rare. My question is, is a factory crew cab 1976 with factory air rare or not? Thanks

AC cabs were common. I have a 78 Crew Cab with A/C. A buddy of mine has a 79 with A/C. So they are out there.

Don't crush it. Put it in the classified section on this website

Re: 1973 crew cab c30

I'm not planning to crush it anytime soon. I put it on craigslist and had a couple of hits on it. I'll just give it a week or two and see what happens. Metal isn't bringing a lot and I'm just trying to clean up right now.

Big block with 4.56 gears = lots of gas

Nobody that buys a classic CC dually expects good mpg's. EFI engine swaps are possible as well. Still cheaper vs. buying a 'new' CC dually if it's not a daily driver.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: 1973 crew cab c30

The truck honestly doesn't look all that bad, was it rusting out?
BTW I hope you did not trash the hood or the grill.
All so in case you don't know that grill is not a 76 but an older one. must be why you where told it was a 1973.

Huh?
Not a 73-74 grill for sure & I didn't read anywhere it's mentioned that someone told him "it was a 1973".

Re: 1973 crew cab c30

The grill is broke and the hood has a decent sized dent in the front not visable in the picture. The guy I got it from told me it was a 1973 but I ran the VIN and came back 1976. I didn't need a title cause I was just needing it for parts. It could be saved but would need a lot of work. The interior is beat to death and the front clip is rusty and 3 out of the 4 doors are junk. The bed sides aren't that bad but the floor does have holes. I got this truck and a 66 step side and a 62 snub nose c60. The guy has several other trucks so I might be picking up another truck or two or three or.....

On post #1 it says that the post was edited and the reason for editing was that He (62c30) was told it was a 73 but found out that it really was a 76.

Sorry for the confusion!

As for the grill in the picture it has the engine size numbers on it and I thought that 1975 was last year for the engine numbers in the grill and that 76 and onward did not have it.

If I am mistaken, sorry for the false info. I am still learning!!!!

Re: 1973 crew cab c30

Ok. Looking at the pic again I think I see the dent in the hood now.

I just don't like seeing good parts go to scrap. LOL
