C25 Steering boxes

So I've got the super sloppy original steering box in my C25, and was wondering what options I have as far as upgrades go. I've been looking at these CP500 boxes, but they just say C10 and I'm not sure if I have the same box as those. Any recommendations?

Re: C25 Steering boxes

Depends on what you want, Summit also has this. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/a...olet/model/c20
Search through the applications tab there and it shows your C25.

That is a remanufactured Cardone 27-7501 A search of that Cardone part # on google shows it is available at some FLAPS

Re: C25 Steering boxes

you might have already done so, but you could try adjusting the box. make sure the rag joint and pitman arm are tight. good quality boxes are expensive.

Re: C25 Steering boxes

Yup, the entire front end was rebuilt and I the rag joint has, surprisingly, zero slop. Just a super loose feeling box, which is normal for old vehicles I know

Re: C25 Steering boxes

If you still have a 4 turn box, a 3 turn box would be a nice upgrade.

Re: C25 Steering boxes

Red Head steering gear is a great upgrade, and you can also have them install variable steering so its a little firmer going in a straight line, and loosens up while you crank it. Goes to about 3 turns lock to lock.

Great customer service and questions answered promptly. The need a good core return but can also provide you with a label.

Re: C25 Steering boxes

If you want a manual box I have one that i removed from a 72 C20 when I switched to power steering years ago. The truck had about 27,xxx miles when I made the switch.
