Adjusting cowl gap and Grill

We are in the process of trying to get the correct gaps on the cowl to the top of the fender. On Drivers side there is a gap on the passenger side there is no gap. Do I need to add shims to the fender? Also we purchased a after market grill and the grill doesn't fit. We had to loosen the passenger side fender and pull it out for it to fit correctly. Do I need to realign everything? any help will be appreciated.

Yes, you will need a shim or two between the fender and cowl on the narrow side. You may need to re-align the hood after pulling the fender out. Does the hood sit square on the back and sides?

LockDoc the hood might need a little tweaking. It's not too bad. There was a shim on the drivers side cowl. We took it out. Because the cowl mounting holes were way off
Now the holes line up correctly. Pics of the hood are attached.

I actually meant a shim between the fender and the firewall to move the fender away from the cowl.. I rotated the pics. Looks like the front of the hood could go to the drivers side a little, otherwise it looks pretty good.

LockDoc we will give that a try. See if we can get the cowl gap right. Will the doors also need to be shimmied the line them up with the fenders?

You won't know that until you get the fender shimmed out. There are no shims used on the doors. The bolts in the door let you move the door in and out and the bolts in the front door jamb let you move the door front to back.
